The heart beats on

Monsoon river roars like ocean
Mighty hands handle the oars
Churning water rushes, gushes
Making it an impossible chore.

Sweat trickles down their body
But they smile and sing
It’s time to head out
And earn their livelihood.

They hope their boat
Will fill up with fishes
When they return home
And pray that they will.

They knew these waters
The lands had tigers
The waters had crocodiles
Yet they dare to venture!
