“Can you see son!”
The chieftain said,
“The beacon is snuffed by winds,
ride your horse lad,
rush to the hilltop
and light the beacon again!”
“Cant it wait till tomorrow pa?”
asked the young boy timidly,
looking at the blinding flashes
hearing the thunders roaring
lime thousand monsters.
“No son no! not tomorrow!”
“If that beacon is not lit,
our friends will think
we are in distress,
they will rush to us
risking their lives
in the thunder that approaches quick!”
The lad obeyed his father’s words,
rushed away to the hill top,
storm started before he could return,
the stallion and the boy lost their ways,
in the hail and wild winds,
found their shelter in a cave,
all night long the boy sat,
listening to the roaring winds,
howling and baying all around him,
the blinding flashes of thousand lightning
and the claps of thunder
that made his heart stop more than once.
In the morning he returned,
a changed man,
one night with nature’s fury
wiped away his fears forever.
