Patreon Posts 2

I know many of you are already thinking that most of my posts in my blogs are my old works, years old quite often. Where are my new works? Have I stopped writing new ones?

Well I am still writing and painting as enthusiastically as before. But these days they are channeled into four other platforms- my annual republished kindle books (https://amazon.com/author/sharmishthabasu) -they devour quite a huge no. of stories and poems every year. Quite a lot!

my bookstore in shoptly (https://shoptly.com/sharmishthabasu) Another section goes to my shoptly bookstore, here I not only publish my monthly Ezines Agnijaat and Agnishatdal I also publish a set of books of poetry and story. They are quite merrily illustrated and are available as pdf files. Yes you can read them perfectly in your cellular phone and of course in computer.

My twin Ezines Agnijaat and Agnishatdal (both English, monthlies) don’t feature much stories or poems but publish all my new essays and articles and again, truckload of illustrations.

and my patreon profile (https://patreon.com/sharmishthabasu) This one again contains bunch of stories, poems and they almost always are illustrated. If not then the stories are very long and of the type that can’t be illustrated.

I have been so stuck up with my creations that I have ignored my blogs and other social media profiles since 2015 I believe. So, if you enjoyed my works quite amply then I think it is high time that I bring you up to date, to share what I am creating these days and how can you get them!

It will be a lengthy affair, so have patience. I will be updating you about my four years of hyperactive creativity!

I will start with Patreon. It is sort of my launch-pad to make my creativity actually become my career. So since creating my profile there I have been updating 5 works each month, two are the Ezines, the remaining three are writing and paintings. Works my blogger friends thoroughly enjoyed. Stories and poems with ample amount of illustrations!

Anyone who becomes my patron there can chose from few tiers-

You can check them from my profile- https://patreon.com/sharmishthabasu

I will share some works from there, hoping they will impress potential patrons, readers who love the stories/poems I write and will love to get a few of them each month. We all have our monthly quota of books we feed the bookworms inside our brain! I did before I started spending that time into writing and painting. I used to read almost anything I could lay my hands on. So I can guess there are many bookworms like me out there who are not writers, just readers and maybe a few of them will get hooked by my writing.

Today’s story is from Agnimalya July 2017 [You can buy this copy directly from me via paypal- https://paypal.me/sharmishthabasu [don’t forget to drop me a line @ sermistabasu@gmail.com after paying in paypal so I can send you the pdf file {all these books cost $!}]

The attic- PART 2

“Yes mom?” Romita almost jumped when Aindrilla answered her from behind.

“Who went downstairs a few minutes ago? One of your sisters?” Romita asked, “Someone ran down the stairs just a few minutes ago.”

“No, they are all upstairs, fixing up their rooms, I was helping them.” Aindrilla answered. “I came downstairs when you called me. You must have heard our ruckus upstairs.”

Romita nodded and told her why she called Aindrilla.

“You have closed the door that goes up to the garden?” Romita asked a few minutes later.

“You bet!” Aindrilla answered, “Do you have any doubts about that? I have locked all of them. So that none of the little ones leave it open for rats or intruders! In case they go exploring my rooms!” She fished out the keys from her pocket to show it to Romita.

“Good girl!” Romita smiled. They unpacked a little then left for dinner in a restaurant in Park Street.

When they returned every light in the house was turned on. They shrugged it away.

Late at night Ritwik came down for a glass of water. The main door was open wide. So was the garage door. To further invite thieves the porch light was on!

“Who left the main door open last night?” he asked next morning on breakfast table but no one took the blame.

The family fell into their routine after a week of unpacking and settling down. The kids left for school at seven, Ritwik, Aindrilla and Romita left at nine, Rohitaswa was the only one left behind. His classes were off for examination.

“Lock the door after us.” Romita told him before leaving even though it was unnecessary. Anyone living in Kolkata knew these things from early childhood. Rohit was studying for his medical exams. He locked the door after them and went upstairs, to his bedroom.

He settled down with his books, his head was heavy! He could barely sleep last night. Strange dreams kept disturbing him all night. Now his head was as heavy as a bag full of bricks. After a few futile minutes he went downstairs to prepare coffee.

The main door was wide open.

He dug inside his pocket and fished out the key. He checked every room after locking the door and then called his father.

“Pops we need to change the main door lock. I locked it after you guys and when I came back five minutes later it was open wide!” He said, “Send the locksmiths.”

The locksmiths came and changed the lock. Morning ruined Rohit went out to the garden with his books and studied for a long time, returned back inside only after the mosquitoes landed on him with full fury.

One by one the family started returning, first the girls then Ritwik finally Romita. Romita was a doctor, her timings were flexible. Ritwik was bank manager. His timings were more or less rigid like the girls. In the morning Ritwik dropped Aindrilla and Romita to their college and hospital and went to his office. In the evening Aindrilla picked up the girls from their schools and returned. Romita and Ritwik returned whenever they were done with their jobs.

“Have you been to my rooms?” Rohit lifted his head, it was Aindrilla.

“Why will I go to your room?” he questioned back. She looked at him for a long time before turning away, heading downstairs. He could hear her talking to Romita downstairs, “Mom someone was in my rooms when I was in college has gone through my stuffs in closet!”

“Is something missing?” Romita asked. She remembered Ritwik telling her about sending the locksmith to change the main door’s lock. Then she told Aindrilla about the main door.
