“Hello, Rani!” Lata greeted the girl cheerfully. “Yes, I know . . . I asked AK too.”

She played with the bowl of fruit on the table, running her nail on the skin of a ripe apple.

“You have an assignment. It’s in your place: Kolkata . . . Ajit will give you the details.”
“Keep me informed about it. It’s a personal request. I want this assignment to be completed with brilliant success.” Brilliant success meant the absolute destruction of the girl, Rani, or rather, Ragini was one of their best punishers.

She got the assignment because her voice had a stunning similarity to the heroine’s voice and they were both from the same place.

She disconnected the phone and dialed another number.

“Good morning K.” She stopped playing with the fruit, and focused on the conversation now. “I have handed over the assignment to one of our best punishers in Kolkata. I told her it’s my special request. She will do her best. That much I can assure you.”

“Thanks. I know I can count on you.” Was K’s prompt reply, “Keep me updated about the progress. I will be waiting.”

“Of course.”

Why he was so eager to destroy this girl was a mystery to Lata. Only K knew the answer.

This girl was the daughter of one of the men of his ancestral village. He tried to corrupt her for years. Somehow she slipped away. It was as though some mysterious power would not let her go astray.

When all else failed, he tried to trap her through his best emissaries. She walked away with a full grasp of goings on at one of the centers of his business.

This was potential trouble: first, the fear of exposure of that center; and second, the fury of yet another failure.

He decided to appoint his best punishers. If unable to corrupt her then he would destroy her. That will settle his score enough. He did it with all the boys and girls of village, by trick, never letting his tools know why he spent such effort to destroy them. He always pretended that they were deserters with the potential to harm the network. It always worked. He contacted Gehlot too, and forwarded her details to him. He was instructed to appoint Jackal 6 and Vixen 6 squads at her heel.

Lata sat for a bit, musing, trying to guess what was in K’s mind before rising from her seat. It was time for sprucing herself up. She jokingly called her routine cosmetic activities sprucing up.

She took good care of her whole outer appearance. She knew how to look gorgeous and maintain it. She loved to see looks of desire, yearning, and lust in the eyes of men whenever she faced them.

Her beautician was waiting for her in a small, beautiful, personal parlour. She sat down on the chair and she started her job.

An hour later she took a long leisurely bath and left the house. She took her car to a small, busy, and beautiful park and sat down on a bench, her pet Pekinese pair playing at her feet.

She always kept them on a leash when she was out of her car. She did not want them to end up as meals or get trampled.

All three of them earned gazes full of admiration and appreciation. All her friends knew they would find her here every morning from nine to ten.

Afterward, she went to her office situated just across the road. Her dogs would stay with her around the clock. They had their bed in her bedroom.

Two fantastic kennels were placed in her office, in her chamber, for them.

Rest in the December 2017 book.

I know many of you are already thinking that most of my posts in my blogs are my old works, years old quite often. Where are my new works? Have I stopped writing new ones?

Well I am still writing and painting as enthusiastically as before. But these days they are channeled into four other platforms- my annual republished kindle books (https://amazon.com/author/sharmishthabasu) -they devour quite a huge no. of stories and poems every year. Quite a lot!

my bookstore in shoptly (https://shoptly.com/sharmishthabasu) Another section goes to my shoptly bookstore, here I not only publish my monthly Ezines Agnijaat and Agnishatdal I also publish a set of books of poetry and story. They are quite merrily illustrated and are available as pdf files. Yes you can read them perfectly in your cellular phone and of course in computer.

My twin Ezines Agnijaat and Agnishatdal (both English, monthlies) don’t feature much stories or poems but publish all my new essays and articles and again, truckload of illustrations.

and my patreon profile (https://patreon.com/sharmishthabasu) This one again contains bunch of stories, poems and they almost always are illustrated. If not then the stories are very long and of the type that can’t be illustrated.

I have been so stuck up with my creations that I have ignored my blogs and other social media profiles since 2015 I believe. So, if you enjoyed my works quite amply then I think it is high time that I bring you up to date, to share what I am creating these days and how can you get them!

It will be a lengthy affair, so have patience. I will be updating you about my four years of hyperactive creativity!

I will start with Patreon. It is sort of my launch-pad to make my creativity actually become my career. So since creating my profile there I have been updating 5 works each month, two are the Ezines, the remaining three are writing and paintings. Works my blogger friends thoroughly enjoyed. Stories and poems with ample amount of illustrations!

Anyone who becomes my patron there can chose from few tiers-

You can check them from my profile- https://patreon.com/sharmishthabasu

I will share some works from there, hoping they will impress potential patrons, readers who love the stories/poems I write and will love to get a few of them each month. We all have our monthly quota of books we feed the bookworms inside our brain! I did before I started spending that time into writing and painting. I used to read almost anything I could lay my hands on. So I can guess there are many bookworms like me out there who are not writers, just readers and maybe a few of them will get hooked by my writing.

Author:

A bookworm transformed into an addicted writer. I love to write and illustrate them myself. By love I mean love, no half-hearted relationship, a full-fledged, passionate love, I can’t pass two days in a stretch without writing/painting (cyber), just feel empty like lovers do when their lovers are away on a tour! Even though I am thoroughly enjoying self-publishing with amazon, but if you like my work and want to publish my works in your magazine, books or better if you want to publish a book of my works please make me very happy by contacting me. Or if you want to sell my works on commission basis only!! contact me, I will be quite relieved. Honestly writing and selling your own work is a very BORING combination. So you are more than welcome! Mail me @sharmishthabasu@hotmail.com, sermistabasu@gmail.com or go to- my blog (I have 16 blogs in wordpress, all active, some on daily basis, every one on weekly basis screaming and vowing my LOVE for writing and painting- this one is first-born, so special) mydomainpvt.wordpress.com (You will get the link to my remaining blogs there) or you can check out my ezines- monthly- Agnishatdalezine.wordpress.com And Agnijaat.wordpress.com if you want fb you can go to my page facebook.com/sermistabasu, linkedin- linkedin.com/authorsharmishthabasu my email id sharmishthabasu@hotmail.com and sermistabasu@gmail.com I am in goodreads and completelynovel too http://www.goodreads.com/sharmishthabasu http://completelynovel.com/sharmishtha-basu http://amazon.com/author/sharmishthabasu I guess I said enough about myself, right?
